What if we ALL could step away from work when we have a baby, need to care for a relative, or get sick?
Paid family leave gives you the freedom of time without worrying about how you’ll make ends meet. And while it’s common to assume paid leave covers having or adopting a child, this benefit also allows employees to take personal time off to care for a relative, for mental health, or if you become sick yourself.
At Sol Center, we believe that ALL people, regardless of employment status, deserve access to paid time off.
That’s why we’re working with policy experts to propose a form of paid family and medical leave that would actually work for the self-employed and independent workers. But they need to understand how you actually work, what you need, and why it matters to you. Will you share what access to affordable, portable paid leave would mean for you?
